🔹 LEVEL B1 – CHỦ ĐIỂM 20: INDIRECT QUESTIONS & MIXED GRAMMAR REVIEW (CÂU HỎI GIÁN TIẾP & ÔN TẬP TỔNG HỢP)

1️⃣ KHÁI NIỆM: INDIRECT QUESTIONS (CÂU HỎI GIÁN TIẾP)

Câu hỏi gián tiếp (Indirect Questions) là cách đặt câu hỏi lịch sự và trang trọng hơn, thường được dùng trong giao tiếp, phỏng vấn, hoặc văn viết. Khác với câu hỏi trực tiếp (Direct Questions), dạng gián tiếp không có đảo ngữ và thường bắt đầu bằng cụm như: Could you tell me..., Do you know..., I wonder..., Would you mind telling me...

Ví dụ:
Direct: Where is the bank?
Indirect: Could you tell me where the bank is? ✅ (👉 không đảo ngữ)

2️⃣ CẤU TRÚC CƠ BẢN

Loại câu hỏi	Direct Question	Indirect Question
Yes/No Question (Câu hỏi Yes/No)	Is he at home? Did she call you?	Could you tell me if / whether he is at home? Do you know if she called you?
WH-Question (Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi)	Where is the station? What time does the show start?	Could you tell me where the station is? Do you know what time the show starts?

3️⃣ QUY TẮC CHUYỂN CÂU HỎI TRỰC TIẾP → GIÁN TIẾP

1. Bỏ dấu hỏi “?” → dùng dấu chấm “.”
2. Không đảo ngữ (chủ ngữ đứng trước động từ)
3. Thêm cụm dẫn: Could you tell me / Do you know / I wonder / Would you mind telling me...
4. Dùng if / whether cho câu hỏi Yes/No

Ví dụ:
Where is my bag? → Can you tell me where my bag is?
Is she coming? → Do you know if she is coming?

5️⃣ SO SÁNH: DIRECT vs INDIRECT QUESTIONS

1. Where is the bus stop? → Do you know where the bus stop is?
2. Is there a bank near here? → Could you tell me if there is a bank near here?
3. When does the shop open? → Can you tell me when the shop opens?
4. What’s her name? → I wonder what her name is.

• ✅ Indirect Questions = lịch sự hơn, không đảo ngữ, thêm “if / whether” khi hỏi Yes/No.
• ✅ Ôn lại toàn bộ thì, câu điều kiện, câu bị động, mạo từ, động từ khuyết thiếu.
