A. LÝ THUYẾT

🔹 LEVEL B2 – CHỦ ĐIỂM 7: REPORTED SPEECH (CÂU TƯỜNG THUẬT NÂNG CAO)

Reported Speech (câu tường thuật) dùng để thuật lại lời nói của người khác mà không lặp lại nguyên văn. Ở trình độ B2, người học cần nắm vững không chỉ cách đổi thì, đại từ và trạng từ thời gian, mà còn các dạng tường thuật câu trần thuật, câu hỏi, mệnh lệnh và nâng cao (reporting verbs).

1️⃣ CÂU TRỰC TIẾP & GIÁN TIẾP (DIRECT vs REPORTED SPEECH)

Loại	Ví dụ	Nghĩa
Direct Speech	He said, “I am tired.”	Anh ấy nói: “Tôi mệt.”
Reported Speech	He said (that) he was tired.	Anh ấy nói rằng anh ấy mệt.

➡ Khi chuyển từ Direct → Reported, ta phải đổi thì, đại từ, trạng từ thời gian / nơi chốn phù hợp.

2️⃣ QUY TẮC CHUYỂN THÌ TRONG REPORTED SPEECH

Nếu động từ tường thuật ở thì quá khứ (said, told, asked...), thì động từ trong lời nói thường lùi một thì.

📘 Ngoại lệ: Nếu động từ tường thuật ở thì hiện tại (says / tells), thì không cần lùi thì.

4️⃣ CÂU TRẦN THUẬT (STATEMENTS)

Cấu trúc: S + said (that) + S + V (lùi thì) hoặc S + told + O + (that) + S + V (lùi thì)

Direct: She said, “I’m studying English.”	Reported: She said (that) she was studying English.
Direct: He told me, “You look tired.”	Reported: He told me (that) I looked tired.

5️⃣ CÂU HỎI (QUESTIONS)

❶ Yes/No Questions

Cấu trúc: S + asked / wanted to know + if / whether + S + V (lùi thì)

She said, “Will you come tomorrow?”	She asked whether I would come the next day.

❷ WH- Questions

Cấu trúc: S + asked + WH-word + S + V (lùi thì)

6️⃣ CÂU MỆNH LỆNH / YÊU CẦU (COMMANDS / REQUESTS)

Cấu trúc: S + told / asked + O + (not) to V

Mom said, “Don’t go out.”	Mom told me not to go out.
He said, “Please help me.”	He asked me to help him.

7️⃣ REPORTING VERBS (ĐỘNG TỪ TƯỜNG THUẬT NÂNG CAO)

Các động từ khác nhau thể hiện mức độ, sắc thái khác nhau khi tường thuật:

He said, “I will call you tomorrow.” → He said he would call me the next day.
The teacher said, “Finish your homework.” → The teacher told us to finish our homework.

💡 MẸO GHI NHỚ NHANH

✅ Said / told – dùng cho câu trần thuật.
✅ Asked + if / whether – dùng cho câu hỏi Yes/No.
✅ Asked + WH-word – dùng cho câu hỏi có từ để hỏi.
✅ Told / asked + O + (not) to V – dùng cho câu mệnh lệnh.
✅ Không đổi thì nếu động từ tường thuật ở thì hiện tại (says/tells).
✅ Không đổi thì trong sự thật hiển nhiên (The earth goes around the sun).
✅ Lùi thì khi động từ tường thuật ở quá khứ (said/told/asked).

✔ Ở trình độ B2, bạn cần vận dụng thành thạo 3 loại câu tường thuật (trần thuật – hỏi – mệnh lệnh).
